Gauss meter or residual field indicator are also known as Magnetic field indicator or magnetometers. Gauss meter works according to the Hall Effect. Gauss meter shows the electromagnetic wave measurements in various forms like Gauss (G), milliGauss (mG), millTesla (mT), and microTesla (µT).
Gauss meter can detect statistic (DC) permanent magnetic or dynamic (AC) electromagnetic fields according to the requirements.
These gauss meters are mainly used to check the residual magnetism after performing magnetic particle testing. It is very useful to read the amount of gauss meter left in a part when the field indicator arrow is placed against the magnetized part.
Gauss meter or field indicator is available for the general purpose usage, calibrated models and non-calibrated models. Field indicators help measure and check the magnetic field direction and strength during the magnetic particle inspection process.
