AEROSPACE NDT TRAINING

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is prominent for persistent protection, fine and integrity of crucial aerospace components, systems and assemblies in production and overhaul and other preservation inspections of aircrafts.

Aerospace inspections components and structures are carried out for the specified duration for various degrees of production and preservation inspections based on total criticality of the components and plane structure for first-class requirements as per the need.

Aerospace and defense are related to military or government contracts for many years. These contracts required NDT personnel qualifications in accordance with MIL-STD-410E. This has been replaced by NAS 410 in the year 1990’s lately.

NAS 401 is initially published in May 1996. It is then issued in June 2002 as Revision 1. Then, revision 2 was issued in 2003 February. Revision 2 made various significant changes in the Liquid Penetrant Testing Training and Magnetic Particle Testing Training Personnel.

Training for Liquid Penetrant Testing Training and Magnetic Particle Testing Training of NDT Training methods and NAS 410 training are increased in Level I and Level II for 16 hours each. The total of 32 hours is practically needed for Level qualification. Also, Revision 2 has made diverse changes in re-certification period for Level I and Level II with 3 years to 5 years interval.

NAS 410 Revision 3, the current revision has completely revised the standards in 2008, March. It is considered as the technical equivalent standard to the European Standard EN 4179 entitled Qualification and Approval Personnel for Non-Destructive Testing.
